Philosophy Purchasing and maintaining properties require a substantial commitment in today's economy. People who enjoy being in their yard, whether it be relaxing, working or entertaining, deserve to have a space that they can be proud of and fully enjoy. Having a "private green space" that is a retreat from the rigors of day-to-day life can provide an immeasurable benefit to psyche and soul. It is in this vein that On the Green Side was founded to contribute in making this a reality for homeowners who are looking for such a space. The key principles the company espouses are: 1. Solutions should be both functional & appreciated by the clients. Client communication in the planning process is critical to the implementation of the project plan. Involvement in the plant selection process is encouraged by the company to the degree desired by the client. 2. Projects should be practical and cost-effective. Plantings are selected that will perform well in the habitat they occupy. Projects are implemented working with "the lay of the land" and are "plant-centric" to maintain cost effectiveness. Plants are sited balancing cost and the need to provide the desired density within the timeframe agreed upon. 3. Project implementation should have a high attention to detail from start to finish. Planning, installation and aftercare are provided by the same qualified person to ensure the project is implemented as desired. After-planting care for one year is provided by the company to ensure optimal plant development and rapid establishment. 4. Maintaining the health of key trees, shrubs and plantings requires an understanding of plant physiology and knowledge of factors that can impact plant health. These factors are assessed and options suggested that balance cost, efficacy, safety and practicality. Solutions which have a minimal disturbance of the surrounding ecosystem are promoted.
